Visiting Cape Cod in the summer offers the perfect opportunity to explore this enchanting destination. You’ll enjoy the beauty of Cape Cod’s streets and its beaches without the hustle and bustle.
Our adventure began with a 90-minute ferry ride, where strong winds gently swayed us side to side. As we stepped off the ferry, the sensation of sand crunching under our feet immediately made us feel like we had been transported to another world.

The crisp, fresh air, enriched by the purity of the steaming ocean water, was invigorating and unlike anything we had ever experienced.
Cape Cod’s charm lies in its ability to blend natural beauty with a sense of peacefulness. Whether you’re dipping your toes in the sand or the ocean, every moment here feels like a treasured escape.
Ready for some action? Here’s what happened during our escape to Cape Cod.
Day One
The Hotel
Lugging suitcases on the pavement and carrying backpacks filled with beach attire, our smiles widened as we took in our surroundings and gently walked up the steps to check-in.

On the historic shores where the pilgrims first landed lies a destination like no other: the Brass Key Guesthouse. This property is more than just a hotel; it’s a luxurious, private backyard party reserved for adventurous couples seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
Staying in a private guest house, we felt a wonderful sense of privacy without being too isolated. The Brass Key Guesthouse offers a cozy retreat with just enough space to make you feel liberated. As you step inside, you’ll notice the sunlight streaming through the windows, reflecting off caramel-colored cabinets. The spacious sleeping area and deluxe-sized balcony provide a panoramic view of the infinity pool and hot tub, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere.

Dinner: The Pointe Restaurant

We headed to the Crowne Pointe Historic Inn and Spa for dinner at The Pointe Restaurant. My partner, in his usual way of testing a bar’s quality, immediately ordered an Old Fashioned. Without hesitation, he declared that The Pointe exceeded his expectations.

This drink had the perfect amount of bitters to complement his swordfish entrée, and it also added a delightful flavor to the tasty cod fritter appetizer. However, I couldn’t resist the crème brûlée, my personal favorite of the evening. This beautiful dessert stole the show with its rich sweetness.

Day Two
Breakfast at Brass Key

The next morning, we were greeted with a delightful complimentary breakfast in the Brass Key kitchen. We had two hours to savor our choice of tea or coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, and ice-cold water.
The Dunes Tour

Riding through the Cape Cod dunes feels like embarking on a coastal safari. Navigating up sandy trails, rolling through shallow waters, and taking in the vast terrain are all part of Art’s Dunes Tour, led by Rob Costa, a descendant of the legendary Art Costa—the undisputed King of the Dunes!

As we arrived at the Cape Cod National Seashore, a preserved national land, we were greeted by a colony of seals. These curious creatures entertained us as we admired the waves crashing onto the beach.
Day Three
Crowne Pointe Historic Inn and Spa

We walked 300 feet across the street from the Brass Key Guesthouse and checked into the Crowne Pointe Historic Inn and Spa for a two-night stay.

As we opened the door to our room, the sweetest sounds of classical music greeted us. It was easy to relax in our spacious accommodations, which included a charming mini-patio where we enjoyed our most endearing conversations.

We headed down to the Patio bar in the evening for complimentary wine and delicacies, all while soaking in the beautiful scenery.

Provincetown Art Association and Museum
As we strolled to the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, we passed by numerous locally-owned shops and attractions. The PAAM Museum, representing the legacy of one of America’s oldest continuous art colonies, welcomed us warmly. We were honored to receive a tour from Christine McCarthy, the Chief Executive Officer of the PAAM Museum, who described Cape Cod as an “eclectic place full of creativity.”

Shui Spa
We couldn’t resist stepping into the mineral-soaking tub at Shui Spa. As we sank into the warm water, the gentle candlelight around us melted away our anxieties, allowing us to fully surrender to a soothing moment of uninterrupted bliss.

Mayflower Trolley Tour
A 45-minute narrated Mayflower Trolley Tour provided us with a comprehensive view of the city. We admired the stunning beaches of the Cape, glimpsed cranberries nestled in the shrubs, and discovered must-try foods that we couldn’t leave the Cape without tasting.

The Pilgrim Monument

Standing tall as the highest all-granite structure in the United States, the Pilgrim Monument commemorates the Pilgrims’ first landing in 1620. As we marveled at the historical engravings on the walls, we looked up and realized we had reached the top—252 feet above the ground! The wind blew fiercely.
Escaping to Cape Cod was not just about the solitude of leaving behind the familiar to explore the unknown. Travel is about connection—a bond with nature and intimate moments of cultural discovery. We had a lot of fun, but we also found a piece of ourselves in every experience we created.
