5 Scholarships to Apply for This Fall

Mary T. Washington Wylie Internship Preparation Program

The Mary T. Washington Wylie Internship Preparation Program awards students with a $500 scholarship and a chance to receive a paid internship that could lead to full-time jobs. Apply for your chance to participate in the 2023 program, which will be held virtually from January 4-6. Click here to learn more and apply by November 14, 2022.

2022 Sheila Brooks NABJ Entrepreneur Scholarship

The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) will award one aspiring entrepreneur with a $2,500 Sheila Brooks NABJ Entrepreneur Scholarship. Applicants must be enthusiastic about the possibility of pursuing a career in media, marketing, or communications. You must be a current NABJ member in good standing to apply. Applicants should be an incoming Graduate student or a Graduate student with at least one full-year of school remaining at the time of the application and disbursement of funds at an accredited U.S. college or university. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above (on a 4.0 scale) verified by an official transcript. Click here to learn more and apply by December 2, 2022.

Burger King Scholarship

The application period for the 2022-2023 cycle begins on Oct. 15, 2022 and closes Dec. 15, 2022. Burger King grants scholarship awards up to $50,000 to help students pay for college or post-secondary vocational/technical school. Recipients are selected based on their grade point average (GPA), work experience, extracurricular activities and community service. Click here to learn more and apply by December 15, 2022.

Bank of America Student Leaders Program

The application period for 2023 is currently open. Through Bank of America’s Student Leaders® program, community-minded high school juniors and seniors have the chance to obtain employment, skills development and service opportunities. Click here to learn more and apply by January 13, 2023.

Pullman Scholars

The application period for 2023 is currently open for Cook County residents. To be eligible for a George M. Pullman Educational Foundation Scholarship, applicants must be a graduating high school senior, demonstrate strong financial need, and plan to attend an accredited and qualified bachelor’s degree-granting institution in the fall. The 2023 scholarship application cycle will open in Fall 2022.
