We wanted to spice up your season with a few scholarship opportunities that you can apply for right now.

Check them out, and add the relevant scholarship deadlines to your calendar.

If you want an extra treat, make sure you grab your copy of my book, Debt-Free Before Graduation, available on Amazon. The reviews have been amazing. Share your review on Amazon and let us know what you think.

Here are some tips you can find in the book.

#1. Obtain college credit in high school.

If you obtain college credit in high school, the price tag for your courses will most likely be cheaper. It might even be free.

While I was at Whitney Young Magnet high school, I took free night classes at Roosevelt University (with my best friend). I enrolled in math classes that I was able to transfer over to DePaul University. Talk to your high school advisor to see if they are aware of options for you or your child to obtain college credit.

#2. Take college classes at a community college.

You can attend two schools at the same time. If you attend a University during the school year, you may be eligible to enroll in classes at a community college during the summer. Special rules apply. Talk to a college advisor to determine how many credits you can obtain outside of your home university. Also, make sure the classes you take at another college will count towards your degree program.

#3. Understand that networking is one letter away from “not working.”

Make sure your child is ready to network when they start their University degree program. Networking is essential to landing a job that aligns with their goals and interests.

I had my eyes on Big Four Accounting Firm PwC. I connected with juniors and seniors who could show me the ropes. And BAM ….I received a PwC scholarship, paid internship, and trip to a leadership conference in New York with accommodations at the Waldorf Astoria.

President Biden announced plans to forgive up to $20,000 of student loans per borrower, but that doesn’t mean the next generation will have the same opportunity.
