In alignment with our mission and values, Chicago Southsider does not promote, publish, or endorse content that includes:

  • Illegal drug use or promotion
  • Explicit sexual content or pornography
  • Hate speech, discrimination, or harassment of any kind
  • Excessive violence or graphic imagery
  • Gambling or betting services
  • Misinformation or disinformation
  • Content that encourages self-harm or unsafe behavior
  • Activities that violate local, state, or federal law

We reserve the right to reject or remove any submissions, events, advertising, or content that does not align with these standards.

Our Editorial Guidelines

  • Accuracy and Verification: We fact-check information to the best of our ability before publication and promptly correct errors when identified.
  • Community-Centered: Our stories, features, and event guides are designed to reflect and serve the diverse voices and experiences of Chicago’s South Side.
  • Independence: We maintain editorial independence. Sponsored content or advertisements are clearly labeled.
  • Respect and Representation: We aim to represent individuals, organizations, and communities fairly and without sensationalism.
  • Transparency: When applicable, we disclose partnerships, sponsorships, or affiliations to our readers.

Events and Submissions

We welcome event submissions and community contributions that celebrate arts, culture, entrepreneurship, education, wellness, and civic engagement. However, all submissions are subject to editorial review and must align with our content standards.
