Francia E. (Francee) Harrington leads Fifth Third’s civic engagement and strategic partnerships.

“Ms. Harrington has enjoyed a distinguished career in banking, healthcare and media,” said Eric S. Smith, Regional President, Fifth Third Bank. “We are fortunate to have Francee on our team guiding our investment strategies in the Chicago region with an eye towards sharpening our philanthropic focus. At a time when some companies are stepping back, I’m thrilled that Fifth Third is a leader in civic engagement as demonstrated by Francee’s work.”

Francee began her banking career with The First National Bank of Chicago, and learned “that change brings opportunity” through the First Chicago NBD, Bank One and ultimately JPMorgan Chase mergers.

As her career advanced, she held roles with increasing responsibility, ultimately serving as director of civic affairs for JPMorgan Chase in Chicago.

Following her banking career, Ms. Harrington served as president and chief development officer of the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago Foundation, and later as president and chief strategy officer at Make It Better Media.

She serves on many nonprofit boards, including Chicago Child Care Society, the Chicago High School for the Arts (known as ChiArts) and the Art Institute’s Learning & Public Engagement committee.  She chairs the board of Ingenuity, which is dedicated to access to a quality arts education for all CPS students.  She is also a past president of the Junior League of Chicago, a nonprofit organization for women founded in 1912 dedicated to leadership development and community service through volunteerism.

“I am honored to be on the Fifth Third team,” Francee said. “I have deep respect for the Chicago business community’s unique history of providing important leadership and generous support for our city.”
