Black Wall Street: The Board Game

Do you remember Black Wall Street?

It was one of the most economically successful African-American communities in the United States.

Unfortunately, that narrative shifted in 1921. A white mob destroyed more than 35 square blocks of Oklahoma’s Greenwood District, known as Black Wall Street. In 2021, the nation commemorated the 100th anniversary of the tragedy.

The original Black Wall Street may be gone, but there’s still a chance to go behind the scenes of Black excellence. Established in 2017, Black Wall Street: The Board Game helps your family expand their financial knowledge and Black History knowledge one move at a time. Players will tap into the power of business ownership and investing in their Black Wall Street journey.

Trading Races

Do you know your Black history? If not, Trading Races is ready to provide you with a gamified lesson that will get you thinking on another level this holiday season.

Trading Races has been popping up in many spaces to expand Black history beyond the month of February. During an interview with Chicago Southsider this Fall, Trading Races founder Kenyatta Forbes shared why she became a Black game creator.

“I’m a former Chicago Public School teacher,” says Forbes. “I saw a lack of student interest in learning or understanding our history. I wanted a way to engage students, so I created a game. “

Now, adults can join in on the fun too! Trading Races provides a mix of education and enjoyment to help you tackle the malleability of race. Players must determine which card is “blacker”, and the player with the winning card wins the book.

“This game can make people feel awkward, so you just have to remember…it’s just a game and to have fun with this s**t,” says Forbes.

Trap Wars: The Urban Game Night Experience

You can’t go into the New Year without Trap Wars. Seriously. It’s for anyone seeking to turn a dull day into an energy-filled game night with family and friends.

Trap Wars celebrates Black culture and history by allowing players to quickly guess the words that appear on various cards given by team members. But be careful. If a card holder uses any of the “trap” words, the card might get snatched!

Trap Wars is a family-friendly, travel-size game created by Fam Foolery founders Chris and Rachel Gregoire. The couple is on a mission to strengthen relationships and increase mental well-being through games. You can order the The Original Edition or The Black History Edition for you or your loved ones this holiday season.

Trials & Triumph

What if 35 minutes could save your teen from serving time in prison? According to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), nearly 60,000 youth are incarcerated in juvenile jails and prisons in the United States. The Sentencing Project reveals that Black youth are more than four times as likely to be detained or committed in juvenile facilities as their white peers.

Trials & Triumph was designed by a 20-year criminal defense attorney to guide teens in their interactions with law enforcement. This revolutionary game uses a simple roll-and-move format to chart the course of a player navigating between the World of Possibilities and the World of Trouble. The object of the game is to get out of the World of Trouble with a Clean Slate by being the first player to arrive at the Triumph space.

Black parents must be prepared to have the conversation with their teens. This is a creative way to start the conversation and learn valuable lessons about interacting with the police.

Are you ready to step out of the social media world and enjoy quality time with family and friends? Verified has got you covered! It takes many popular social media features, and flips the concept into a hilarious & entertaining party card game.

The game is simple. The goal is to be the first player to collect 50K likes and 50K followers to win and become Verified. That’s it.

It’s time to get your game nights lit. Answer questions based on viral sensations and hashtags. You may even have a chance to do those off the wall, daring, and amusing challenges that we love on social media.
